The goals of the Newport Fire Department are to serve the citizens, businesses and visitors of the City of Newport by protecting lives and property from the dangers and hazards of fires through prevention, education, inspection and timely incident response.

Newport, Tn Fire Truck

The Newport Fire Department is a fully paid department of 28 personnel. The shift firefighters are divided into three shifts rotating 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty. All firefighters are professionallly trained and certified as firefighters.

The department has one
75-foot aerial truck and four pumper trucks. The department responds to approximately 250 emergency calls per year.
