SKATE PARK RULES The City of Newport has established the following rules for your safe and enjoyable use of this facility: - ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN A WAIVER ANNUALLY, EACH JANUARY, PRIOR TO USING THE SKATE PARK AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL RECEIVE A STICKER FOR THEIR HELMETS AS PROOF THEY HAVE COMPLIED WITH CITY REGULATIONS FOR USE OF THE SKATE PARK.
- Please skate wisely at all times. Skateboarding and skating can be hazardous recreational activities. Use of this facility may result in death or serious injury.
- Use of this facility is strictly at your own risk. The City of Newport does not assume any responsibility for loss or injuries.
- Skate within your own skill level.
- The Skate Park is designed for skateboard and inline skate use only.
- The Skate Park opens at dawn and closes at dusk.
- The skate park is self policing. Please be respectful of all skaters.
- Use of helmets is required, they must fit properly and have straps fastened. Other safety equipment, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist pads, is strongly recommended.
- The following are NOT permitted in the Skate Park area:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Smoking and/or tobacco products
- Fighting
- Profanity
- Graffiti/tagging
- Pets
- Loud music
- Glass containers
- Bicycles
- Motorized vehicles
- Scooters
- Food and beverages
- Weapons
- Personal obstacles, ramps, other equipment or materials are not permitted to be used or added to the facility. Facility structures are not to be altered OR WAXED.
- Certain weather conditions may create unsafe surfaces for skating.
- Skate parks shall be free from trash and litter. Participants shall police area of trash and place in trash receptacles.
- The City of Newport is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Skate safely and be courteous to other skaters.
- Spectators are required to remain outside of the skating area.
- All organized events require advanced, written approval from the City of Newport.
- The City of Newport reserves the right to close this facility for any reason.
- The City of Newport authorities, at their discretion, reserve the right to restrict entry to the facility and ask persons to leave the facility as the result of disorderly conduct, disturbance of the peace, rule violations or unsafe behavior. Any person not complying with these rules will not be permitted to use the facility.
