The City Administrator is responsible for all city affairs placed in his charge by or under the Charter of the City of Newport.  The administrator also reports directly to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. As the Chief Administrative Officer of the City, the City Administrator directs the day-to-day operations of the all departments, offices and agencies of the City of Newport, except as otherwise provided by the City Charter or by law.
