TRAFFIC SAFETY A PRIORITY

Traffic Safety is a PRIORITY with the Patrol Division. Even though the Patrol Division issued 1922 citations and made 166 DUI/DWI arrests in 2016 traffic crashes continue to occur. Our hope is that the citations that are issued will continue to reduce the number of crashes and reduce the impact of those crashes.

We strive to  keep our motoring public, motorcyclists bicyclists and pedestrians safe. Whether you are walking or motoring through Newport we urge you to be safe, adhere to the traffic laws and observe all traffic signs. We also encourage you to report any aggressive or reckless drivers to Central Dispatch 423-623-8777. In case of Emergency Dial 911
