Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport and specifically is a paddle sport that is a mixture of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It is recognized as one of the fastest growing sports in the world as it being introduced in physical education curriculum, retirement communities, and recreational based activities. The Newport Parks and Recreation Department has listened to requests within the community about the need for courts to play this game and will have established courts available for open play at the Newport Community Center.

Open Play will be Monday—Friday 8:00AM—12:00 Noon when the community center is open under normal business hours. The price to play will be included in the daily admissions fee. Equipment will be available for use at the Newport Community Center. For more information, call the Newport Community Center Athletic Department at (423) 623 – 7304 extension 304.
