🌳 About Newport Parks and Recreation
The Newport Parks and Recreation Department proudly serves as the City of Newport’s primary provider of recreational, athletic, and community wellness opportunities. The Department is based at the Newport Community Center, located on Prospect Avenue — a versatile facility featuring meeting rooms, a full-sized regulation gymnasium, and an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool.
In addition to operating the Community Center, the Department manages Newport City Park and several satellite parks throughout the city, offering green spaces, walking trails, playgrounds, and athletic facilities for the community to enjoy.
⚾ Year-Round Programs & Activities
Newport Parks and Recreation is active throughout the year, hosting a wide range of recreational programs for all ages:

Spring/Summer: Home of the Smoky Mountain Little League, proudly affiliated with Little League Baseball.

Fall: Hosts the Newport Roosters Little League Football program.

Winter: Offers recreational basketball leagues and clinics.

This includes providing adequate facilities to address recreational needs, providing maintenance of facilities to ensure safety and extend period of use, and provide recreational programs to enable the participation of all regardless of age, sex, color, or creed.
