Welcome to the Newport City Park
My Name is Tim Dockery Director Newport Parks and Recreation.
Please let me give you the History how this play ground became reality.
December 2014 we were ask what is the major project you would like to see in parks and recreation for the 2015 – 2016 budgets without hesitation is to improvement of our play grounds.
In 2015-2016 the City Council budgeted for this improvement.
The last improvement to this play ground was done in 2005 with the installation of the see-saw.
Today is the celebration of the NU Edge play system totally different from anything you have ever seen. Our Natural Urban Edge playground will challenge kids physically, while stimulating their imaginations.
We have also meet ADA compliance with 2,000 Square feet of the No Fault Rubber Turf installation.

Back at the first of the year Mark Hill and I made trips to other communities to see what works for them in their play ground.
